Ron Kerr Reappointed to Cobourg Police Service Board

The Cobourg Police Service Board is pleased to announce the reappointment of Dr. Ron Kerr by the Executive Council of Ontario. Dr. Ron Kerr was reappointed to the Board on January 31, 2025. He will continue to serve at the pleasure of the Lieutenant Governor in Council for a three-year term. Police Service Board appointments fall under Section 33 of the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019.

Dr. Ron Kerr has been a dedicated member of the Cobourg Police Service Board since 2019. He served as
Vice-Chair from 2019 to 2021 and Chair from 2022 to 2024.

During his tenure, Ron led the Board’s Finance, Strategic Planning, and Policy and Labour Negotiations
Committees. He consistently made decisions that supported members while being transparent and fiscally responsible to taxpayers.
