Cobourg Man Faces Charges Including Break and Enter

A 55-year-old Cobourg man is facing multiple charges in relation to a break and enter.

On Thursday, January 16, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m., a man entered a business on William Street in Cobourg and stole several food items. At approximately 1:00 p.m., the same man re-attended and stole more food items.

Police identified the suspect on video surveillance, and the man was located and arrested

As a result of the investigation, the 55-year-old Cobourg man was charged with Breaking and entering, Theft under $5,000, Possession of Property obtained by Crime, and Failure to comply with probation order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

 

Two Cobourg Men Charged with Multiple Offences Including Break and Enter

Two Cobourg men are facing multiple charges following a break and enter.

On Friday, January 17, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., police responded to an alarm at a business in the area of Division Street and Ewart Street. Upon arrival, police engaged the fleeing suspects in a foot pursuit. Both men were caught and placed under arrest. Upon arrest, officers located knives in their possession.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old male and a 34-year-old man were both have been charged with Break and Enter – Commit Indictable Offence, Mischief – Renders Property Useless, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

The 45-year-old male was held for a bail hearing, and the 34-year-old man was released with a future court date.
