Cobourg Police – Colborne Man Facing Drug Charges (Name Released)

A 51-year-old Colborne man is facing drug charges after police responded to a disturbance Monday night.

On Monday, January 13, 2025, at approximately 8:24 p.m., police were dispatched to a disturbance at a business on Division Street in the Town of Cobourg.

Police attended and located an individual wanted on two outstanding warrants with the Cobourg Police Service.

Dennis Hockney (51) of Colborne was arrested on the strength of the warrants and charged with three counts of failure to attend court and theft of a motor vehicle.

During the arrest, police located

• approximately 25.5 grams of suspected fentanyl

• approximately 3 grams of suspected cocaine

• approximately $1,765 in Canadian currency

As a result of the police investigation, the accused was further charged with Possession for the Purpose of
Trafficking – Fentanyl, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

The accused was held for a bail hearing
