First Night Celebrations Postponed Due to Unseasonal Weather

The Town of Cobourg regretfully shares that the First Night in Cobourg celebrations will be postponed due to unseasonably warm temperatures and rain.

Due to the warmer weather and rain, the Rotary Harbourfront outdoor skating rink is currently closed.

The Town of Cobourg will update the community on a new event date as soon as temperatures stabilize, and staff are able to get the rink operational.

First Night Cobourg 2025
An evening filled with music, seasonal magic, and community spirit.

Location: Rotary Harbourfront Park, 35 Albert Street

Date: To be determined

• Outdoor Skating Rink Extravaganza: Glide across our enchanting outdoor rink
(weather permitting) with music by a live DJ.

• Horse and Wagon Rides Under the Stars: Take a magical ride through Cobourg’s
scenic streets.

• Dazzling Fireworks Over the Harbour: Marvel at the spectacular fireworks display
lighting up the night sky in celebration of the New Year.

Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.

Mayor and Council’s New Year’s Levee
The community is reminded to join Mayor Lucas Cleveland and Cobourg Council at the traditional New Year’s Levee. New to the schedule this year are activities to be enjoyed by community members of all ages.

Date: Saturday, January 4, 2025

Time: 2 – 4 p.m.

Location: Victoria Hall, Concert Hall, 55 King Street West, Cobourg

Event Highlights:

• Live music by the Concert Band of Cobourg’s jazz group, The Bootnecks.

• A special performance by SONG (Sounds of the Next Generation).

• Family-friendly activities and festive refreshments, including cotton candy and popcorn.

• A proclamation by Cobourg Town Crier, Mandy Robinson to welcome the New Year.

Christmas Magic Lights
Enjoy the stunning Christmas Magic light displays in Victoria Park, the bandshell, and Rotary Harbourfront Park.

• Victoria Park Lights: On display until Sunday, January 5, 2025.

• Rotary Harbourfront Park Lights: On display until Family Day, February 17, 2025.

Take a stroll through these beautifully lit areas and soak in the magic of the season.
