City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Driver Facing Multiple Charges After Collision (Name Released)

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision in Emily Township.

On December 28, 2024, at 8:06 p.m., officers were dispatched after a motor vehicle had lost control on Pigeon Lake Road. Officers along with Kawartha Lakes Paramedics attended the scene and located the driver who had sustained minor injuries.

Through investigation, Robert GALLO, 35-year-old from Lindsay was arrested and charged with

·      Failure or Refusal to comply with demand

·      Failure to comply with prohibition order

·      Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – other drugs

·      Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device

·      Class G1 Licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver

·      Careless Driving

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

In addition to the charges the driver received a 90-day licence suspension, and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

The accused was released from custody and will appear later in court.
