It was a dull, rainy day, but it didn’t take long to find things happening in the area.

The Rotary Harbourfront Rink was closed due to warm weather and rains expected.

The New Year’s Eve Festivities are also cancelled for Rotary Harbourfront Rink.

But there was still lots of activities on Sunday, December 29, 2024 in the area.

In Cobourg, a hydro-foiler was enjoying the strong winds in the basin of Cobourg Harbour.

In Port Hope a few anglers were trying their luck along the Ganaraska River while a mink seemed to be using a large pile of snow that was dumped in the river as its playground for the afternoon.

The mink stayed around for a few hours checking the temporary snow fort out.

With the ice breaking up and floating down the river, ducks had to navigate their way up the river.

During late afternoon the fog rolled in to the Bewdley area settling in over Rice Lake.

With the warm temperatures and heavy rain, the Rotary Harbourfront Rink, just couldn’t maintain the ice, but during the evening it did make for a beautiful reflection off the water.
