Durham Police – Officer Exposed to Fentanyl

On Sunday, December 22, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a trespass call at a business in the area of Simcoe Street South and Albany Street, in Oshawa.

Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect who had been previously banned from the business.

While arresting the suspect an officer was exposed to fentanyl.

The officer was taken to a local area hospital where they were medically cleared.

This incident highlights just one of the many unknown dangers our officers face each and every day while keeping our community safe.
