Cobourg Police – Third Person Arrested in Ongoing Break and Enter Investigation (No Name Released)

It was previously reported that on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, police opened an investigation after receiving a report of a break and enter after the fact at a business on Buchanan Street.

On Sunday, November 24, 2024, four storage units at a business located on Buchanan Street were entered by unknown suspects. Scenes of Crime Officers attended the business to process the scene.

Based on security footage, there are believed to be five suspects in this matter. Among the items reported
missing from the unit is a full-size hunting crossbow that is camouflaged in colour.

Update:
Through Police investigation, a third male suspect was identified. On Friday, December 13th, 2024, the 42-year-old Cobourg man turned himself in to police. He was charged with the following and released with a future court date:

Possession of Break-In Instruments

Break and Enter – Commit Theft over $5,000

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x 2

It is believed that two other suspects are still outstanding, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with
information, dashcam, or CCTV footage of the area is asked to call police at 905-372-6821 or leave an
anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
