Cobourg Police Incidents Include Baltimore Man Charged with Impaired, Cobourg Man Charged with Theft (No Names Released)

Baltimore Man Faces Charged with Impaired Driving and Having Cannabis Readily Available
The Cobourg Police Service were conducting RIDE checks in the area of Division and Elgin Street when they conducted a vehicle stop. Officers detected a strong odour of alcohol and observed cannabis and open alcohol readily available to the driver.

The 20-year-old male from Baltimore was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Cobourg
Police Station to administer the breath test. The male subsequently failed the breath test and was charged with Operation while impaired; having care and control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available; young driver Blood Alcohol (BAC) above zero and having care and control of a vehicle with open container of liquor.

The vehicle was impounded for 7 days and the accused’s license was suspended for 90 days. The accused
was released on an undertaking with a future court date in January of 2025.

Cobourg Man Charged with Theft and Fail to Comply
A 24-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges following a theft from a business.

On the 13th of December 2024 at approximately 5:30pm, a man shoplifted from a business on Division
Street.

Following an investigation, the suspect was located, arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000 and
Failing to Comply with Probation.

The accused was released from custody with a future court date in January of 2025.
