Northumberland OPP – Warkworth Inmate Charged with Assault

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another person in relation to an assault which occurred at Warkworth Institution.

On July 26, 2024, OPP received a report regarding an altercation which had occurred the previous day involving two individuals. The incident resulted in one individual being transported to a local hospital with non-life-altering injuries.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged one of the parties involved on November 14, 2024.

On November 21, 2024, a 46-year-old male, from Brighton, was arrested and charged with:

– Assault causing bodily harm.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
