Penalties are Adding Up After Dog Owner Fails to Comply with By-Laws

The Municipal Law Enforcement Office in Cobourg is encouraging a dog owner to comply with orders that have been given after reports of a dog bite.

On November 4th , 2024 Municipal Law Enforcement responded to a report of a dog bite in Cobourg.
A Municipal By-Law Officer issued an Animal Control for Effective Control.

As a means of preventing any future physical harm to any individual or animal, Effective Control directs the owner to ensure the animal remains secured within their dwelling or, when on a walk, that the animal is on a secure leash and muzzled.

Unfortunately the town states, administrative monetary penalties are adding up and are encouraging the dog owner to comply with respect to licensing, effective control, and adherence to the Animal Control Order.
