Mediator Appointed for Canada Post and Union Dispute

In News

The Minister of Labour has appointed special mediator, Peter Simpson, with meetings starting Monday, November 18, 2024.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) will continue to work with the mediators to reach negotiated collective agreements. CUPW is fighting for fair wages, safer working conditions and the right to retire with dignity.

CUPW is fighting against rollbacks, such as the gutting of our pensions and health benefits, which will hurt current and future generations of postal workers.

CUPW is also resisting Canada Post’s plans to further gigify Canada Post’s workforce – which will result in a second-class workforce.

CUPW also wants to see a real commitment to expand services to strengthen our public post office and turn it into the world class public service people across this country deserve.

CUPW’s goal is to negotiate collective agreements. The best collective agreements are those negotiated at the bargaining table.”
