Video – House Destroyed by Fire in Hamilton Township

In Local, Photo Gallery

There were no injuries after a house was destroyed by fire in Hamilton Township on Friday evening.

Firefighters from Hamilton Township and Port Hope were dispatched to the two-storey home on Morton Road on Friday, November 15, 2024 shortly after 11 pm. When a passerby noticed the fire, they immediately called 9-1-1.

When fire crews arrived the front porch was engulfed in flames and had spread to the interior of the first floor. Shortly after the fire had consumed the second floor.

Because of the intensity of the fire it was a defensive attack only from the outside.

No one was home at the time of the fire and the occupant came home to see numerous fire apparatus and smoke billowing across the road.

There is no word on the cause or estimate of damage.
