Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Lindsay Woman Charged with Theft at Pharmacy (Name Released)

On October 28th, 2024 Kawartha Lakes Police Service were contacted by the owner of a local pharmacy regarding possible internal thefts of prescription narcotics.

Further investigation which included CCTV footage resulted in the arrest of an employee from the pharmacy.

The accused is Karlie Adams a 24-year-old female from Lindsay, she has been charged with the following offences:

· Theft Under $5000

· Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

At this time, it is believed that over 10,000 Percocet’s (Oxycodone & Acetaminophen) are unaccounted for. The incident continues to be investigated by the Kawartha Lakes Criminal Investigations Unit and further charges could be laid.

The accused has been held for Bail and will all appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay.
