Family Christmas at Spry Family Christmas Tree Farm Returns for 2024

In Local, Upcoming Events

Those looking for a real Christmas tree this season will have a chance to get one while also supporting an important cause with the return of Family Christmas at Spry Christmas Tree Farm. On Saturday, December 7, from 10:00a.m. until 4:00p.m., Brian and Sharron Wharram-Spry will once again open their Christmas tree farm up to the community, with 100% of the proceeds from the day directed to Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation’s Light Up a Life campaign.

Attendees are invited to visit the Spry Family Christmas Tree Farm, located at 8329 Danforth
Road (just East of Burnham Street), Cobourg to pick or cut down their perfect tree. All trees
other than fir trees are priced at just $80, with firs priced at $120.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Spry family for hosting this fundraiser for the 10th year, and to
the many volunteers and event sponsors who help make this possible,” shares Megan Fluxgold,
NHH Foundation Community Engagement and Events Specialist.

“And after 10 amazing years, Brian and Sharron have let us know this will be their final year.
When they first introduced this event in 2015, their goal was to create a much-loved tradition for
families to look forward to each year. They absolutely accomplished this, while raising more
than $174,000 since its inception. Amazing!” Fluxgold continued.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will once again be making a trip down from the North Pole to capture
photos with attendees. For no extra charge, you can enjoy complimentary chili and hot dogs,
hot chocolate and coffee donated by Starbucks and treats around a warm bonfire. Those not
looking to purchase a tree are still invited to attend to enjoy the festivities for a donation to the
hospital.

This year’s event is sponsored by Baker Tilly, Wharram Tree Service Ltd., Craft Food House,
Ley Wealth Management, Neil Ganson – RBC Wealth Management and Davey Tree Service.

All proceeds from the day will be donated to NHH Foundation’s Light Up a Life campaign, which
will help support the purchase of hematology analyzers for the Laboratory.
