Ontario Building New Emergency and Diagnostic Imaging Departments in Orangeville

Expanded departments at Headwaters Health Care Centre will connect more people to care closer to home

The Ontario government is connecting people in Orangeville to better, more convenient emergency and diagnostic care by renovating and expanding the emergency and diagnostic imaging departments at Headwaters Health Care Centre to connect more people to the world class care they need, where and when they need it.

“Our government is addressing demand for emergency and diagnostic care in Orangeville and across Dufferin County to connect more Ontarians to convenient health care options, close to home,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin—Caledon, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. “The expansion of Headwaters Health Care Centre will allow people and families in the Orangeville community to continue to access the high-quality care they need, where they need it, for years to come.”

Headwaters Health Care Centre’s current emergency and diagnostic imaging departments will be renovated and expanded to increase patient capacity and ensure the hospital is better equipped to deliver state-of-the-art care for patients and their families, now and in the future. Through the relocation of the hospital’s laboratory from the main floor to the lower level, additional space will be created for the hospital to expand its emergency and diagnostic imaging departments.

As a next step, the ministry is working with Headwaters Health Care Centre to complete early planning and design for this project. A construction schedule will be confirmed once future planning is complete and the project is tendered and awarded.

Through Your Health: A Plan For Connected and Convenient Care, Ontario is expanding and modernizing hospitals, making it easier and faster for people of all ages to connect to the care they need, closer to home.
