A Month After Pharmacy Break-In Cobourg Police Issue Release

A month after a break and enter at a pharmacy, Cobourg Police have issued a release asking for the public’s assistance.

On September 22, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a break-and-enter after the fact at a business on Division Street near Spencer Street in Cobourg.

At approximately 4:00 am on September 22, 2024, two individuals broke the front glass doors and entered the business, collected merchandise, including narcotics, and fled the scene.

The total loss incurred by the business, including stolen merchandise, narcotics, and damage to the premises, is approximately $19,000.

An investigation was launched which included the assistance of a Scenes of Crime Officer from the Port Hope Police Service. Police are using video footage obtained from the area to identify the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to identify persons of interest. Anyone with information, dashcam, or CCTV footage of the area is asked to call police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.

Police are reminding the public that taking medication that is not prescribed for you can be very dangerous. If you find lost or discarded medication, do not touch it, contact police.
