Further Incident Of Stolen Firearms – Public Assistance Requested

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break and enter that occurred at a location north of Warkworth.

On October 9, 2024, shortly after 6:30 p.m., OPP responded to a break and enter that occurred sometime between 6:00 p.m. on October 8, and 6:00 p.m., on October 9, 2024, at a location on Godolphin Road.

An OPP Scenes Of Crime Officer (SOCO) attended to assist with the investigation where a number of shipping containers and a shed had been broken into. Among the property stolen was an ATV, an UTV, a gas generator, multiple chainsaws and an utility trailer. The approximate value of these items stolen is $55,000.

On October 10, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police received an additional report of a break- in at another area of the property. Among the items stolen were the following described firearms along with ammunition:

–      Marlin 39m .22 caliber lever action rifle

–      Lee Enfield 303 rifle

–      Lakefield Mossberg 400G 12 gauge shotgun
