Durham Regional Police – Two Suspects Arrested Attempting to Steal ATM (Names Released)

Two females are in custody after attempting to steal an ATM machine in Oshawa.

On Monday, October 7, 2023, at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to a call for two suspicious vehicles in the area of Winchester Road East and Simcoe Street North. When officers arrived, they located a van and a pick-up truck, in the parking lot. The pick-up truck fled upon police arrival, and the van remained.

Officers followed the pick-up truck, which was dragging an ATM, into a nearby cornfield. The female suspect then fled on foot, and was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.

Upon further investigation, it was found that the suspects used the pick-up truck to pull the ATM machine from the ground. A female in the van was also arrested.

Sabrina WARREN, age 30, of Clarington is facing five charges, including: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5000 and Theft Exceeding $5000.

WARREN was held for a bail hearing.

Elisabeth MCLAUGHLIN, age 33, of Whitby is facing six charges, including: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5000; Disguise with Intent and Theft Exceeding $5000.

MCLAUGHLIN was released on an Undertaking.
