Northumberland Hills Hospital Food Isn’t That Bad

Northumberland Hills Hospital was delighted recently to take delivery of new food-delivery equipment that enhances delivery of some 350 meals daily – but even before that, food service at the hospital was pretty good, according to their latest Food Satisfaction Survey.

This survey is conducted each year in July and December to get responses on a variety of criteria, including quality of meals, courtesy of the staff and overall satisfaction.

The report at the October board meeting by President and Chief Executive Officer Susan Walsh said the overall feedback from July’s survey, from the 108 responses received, was positive overall.

60% of respondents reported eating more than half of their meal.

94.5% rated the courtesy of service staff as good, very good or excellent

77.8% rated the overall meal satisfaction as good, very good or excellent

Satisfaction scores should rise on the next survey, with the new equipment that came Sept. 10. This consists of seven multi-tray delivery carts, each with built-in heaing and cooling systems that help food retain proper serving temperature.
