Video – Tour of Kingston Penitentiary a Must

In Provincial

Taking a tour of the Kingston Penitentiary is a must for anyone who hasn’t done it yet.

The massive walls of the institution greet you as you walk up to the facility, but what’s inside was a great glimpse of the history of our Country.  By 1867 the penitentiary was the principal facility of the federal government.
The tours are approximately two-hours, but offers a wealth of information about the institution and some of the inmates.
The guides are amazing speaking of the history, but the guards who worked there give you a first hand experience on what it was like dealing with the prisoners on a daily basis.
The penitentiary’s last day was on September 30, 2013, but there have been tours happening for a number of years.

Pumpkinferno is taking place at the penitentiary from September 27 to October 30.
