Northumberland OPP – Investigating Fatal Collision

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a single vehicle collision in the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand.

On September 22, 2024, at approximately 2:05 a.m., Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand Fire Department and OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle, south of Davis Road on County Road 45.

A 73-year-old motorcycle rider from Roseneath, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OPP Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) members and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario are attending the scene to assist with the investigation.

County Road 45 is closed in the area at Woodland Road and County Road 29. This investigation is on-going and updates will be provided when available.

Northumberland OPP are asking for anyone who may have witnessed, has video/dash cam footage or information relating to the collision and has not yet spoken with police, to contact the Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
