Update – Ministry of the Solicitor General Investigating Correctional Officer

The Ministry of Solicitor General has confirmed they are investigating an incident involving a Correctional officer in Cobourg on August 9, 2024.

On August 9, a Correctional officer was involved in a interaction with a employee at Papa’s PizzaLand in Cobourg as reported by Today’s Northumberland.

In a brief e-mail on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, spokesperson, Andrew Morrison for the Ministry of the Solicitor General said, “the ministry is currently investigating this matter.  As this is an active investigation, the ministry cannot provide further comment.”

Cobourg Police said they are continuing their investigation, but the owner of Papa’s PizzaLand said he was told by the investigating officer and a Sergeant that the investigation has been completed.
