Beyond the Blue Box is moving back home, but questions still remain.

Today’s Northumberland sent an e-mail to Beyond the Blue Box several days ago after hearing that a number of employees would be laid-off during the transition.

A portion of Beyond the Blue Box was destroyed by fire in September 2023.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2024 Beyond the Blue Box issued a release but gives no mention if any or all employees will be laid-off.

“The Board of Directors for Beyond the Blue Box have made the decision to not renew both our leases on King Street, East and move home to Covert Street.

The boutique will re-open, and the barn will once again host an amazing Christmas Store.

We are going home to focus on our fund-raising strategy and will soon launch our campaign. We look forward to sharing our new building drawings at this event.

As things evolve and news comes in, we will share it with you. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Thankfully, we have been extremely well supported by our insurance company and look forward to working with them until Beyond the Blue Box once again stands proudly on Covert Street.

We ask for your continued support by shopping at our King Street locations until October 6th and at our Boutique and Christmas stores on Covert Street when they open. Our opening day will be announced as soon as we have a date. We continue to be grateful for the generous donations you have given us. Your patronage and donations are integral to the success of our rebuilding plans.

Beyond the Blue Box has been serving the community since 1992. With your help, we have changed many lives and supported people with developmental disabilities for 32 years! 100% of sales we process stay in your community.”
