Durham Regional Police – Donation Fraud Investigation in Clarington

The Financial Crimes Unit have arrested a third suspect after investigating booklets that were fraudulently sold in support of the Clarington Flames Hockey Association.

On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, members of the Financial Crimes Unit (FCU) arrested the owner of JSMarketing.

The Clarington Flames Girls Hockey Association is not affiliated with this business or the suspects and has not received any donations. The coupon books are legit coupon books; however, the proceeds were not ending up with the Clarington Flames and the suspects were not acting on behalf of the Clarington Flames organization.

Jamie B MCCORMICK, age 46 from Whitby is charged with: Fraud Over $5000.

He was released on an Undertaking.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. Chapman of the Financial Crimes Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5352.
