Cobourg – Special Council Meeting Called for Wednesday, July 31, 2024

The Town of Cobourg Legislative Services Division would like to inform all residents that a Special Meeting of Council will take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 which is scheduled for 1 p.m.

In accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001, Council will meet in Closed Session regarding the following:

  1. Advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose (s. 239 (2) (f)).

Please be advised that pursuant to section 5.5 of the Town of Cobourg Procedural By-law a Special Meeting has been called for the purposes of meeting in Closed Session. The Public will see a Closed Session screen on the livestream of the Special Meeting indicating Council is in Closed Session.

Following the Closed Session, Council will reconvene into Open Meeting at 2pm to receive the following:

  1. Correspondence from CN regarding proclamation request for Rail Safety Week 2024
  2. By-law No. 048-2024 to authorize the borrowing of monies and a bank loan in the principal amount of up to $8,214,169
  3. Report No. DS-2024-017 from the Manager of Economic Development and Economic Development Coordinator regarding the Lucas Point Industrial Park Land Sale to Eupherbia Canada.
  4. Report No. COR-2024-013 from Treasurer, Director of Corporate Services regarding 2025 Budget Dates and Community Engagement Program
  5. Report No. COR-2024-014 from Treasurer/Director of Corporate Services regarding 36 Queen St. Extension
  6. Report No. LS-2024-020 from Town Clerk/Director, Legislative Services regarding Northumberland County/Town of Cobourg 310 Division Street Agreement – Update a Recommendation Discussion
