In Police Blotter

Just over half of the commercial vehicles inspected during an initiative in Quinte West were at least temporarily taken out of service.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division TIME team and the Ministry of Transportation conducted a joint commercial vehicle safety initiative on July 11, 2024.

A total of 21 vehicles were inspected. Eleven (52%) of those were taken out of service until repairs could be completed and seven (33%) had the licence plates removed for serious safety defects.
