Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Assault (Name Released)

Enforcement of laws and regulations will be a critical focus, particularly in interactions requiring direct intervention due to specific actions or behaviours of individuals.

A 57-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a disturbance on Thursday morning.

On Thursday, June 13, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers attended the area of King Street East and Division Street in the Town of Cobourg for a report of an altercation between two males.

It was determined the accused was involved in a confrontation with another male and punched him.

As a result of the police investigation, Brian Janes (57) of Cobourg was arrested and charged with Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
