Quinte West OPP – Search Warrant Results in Drug Trafficking Charges (Names Released)

Three people face drug trafficking charges after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized illegal drugs from a residence in Quinte West.

On June 5, 2024, the East Region Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by Quinte West OPP and the OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant on Sidney Street. Officers located a quantity of suspected cocaine and psilocybin, along with items typical ly associated with drug trafficking. Two adults and one youth were arrested at the scene.

Shannon BROOKS, age 35 of Quinte West, has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Courtney GILROY, aged 20 of Quinte West, has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Failure to comply with release order

A 17-year-old, whose name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Fail to comply with sentence – two counts

All parties will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville to deal with their matters.
