Community Care Northumberland Welcomes New Communications Specialist

Community Care Northumberland (CCN) is delighted to announce the appointment of Chelsea Rankin as our new Communications Specialist. Chelsea brings with her a wealth of experience and a passion for driving positive change within our communities, making her an invaluable addition to our team.

With six years of professional experience in the not-for-profit sector, including over three years with the United Way, Chelsea has consistently demonstrated her dedication to enhancing community engagement and promoting impactful initiatives. Her innovative thinking and strong communication skills will be an integral part of the growth of Community Care’s online, and community presence.

Chelsea’s professional background includes extensive media relations expertise, content creation and design, and project management experience.

During her tenure at United Way Northumberland, Chelsea spearheaded several key initiatives. She led the Period Promise Northumberland campaign, distributing over 50,000 menstrual products to those in need, and managed the Northumberland Eats voucher program, injecting more than $370,000 into the local economy. Her role also included overseeing communications materials, managing online platforms, and supporting various community programs and events.

Chelsea’s earlier roles at Simcoe Hall Settlement House and Habitat for Humanity Durham further highlight her versatility and commitment to community building.

Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Public Relations from Conestoga College and has continued to expand her skillset through various certifications, including Emergency First Aid, Facilitation  Leadership, and Social Media Marketing.

“Joining Community Care Northumberland is a wonderful opportunity to continue my journey in public relations within the not-for-profit sector,” said Chelsea. “I look forward to working with the dedicated team at CCN to further our mission and make a lasting impact in our community.”
