Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (Name Released)

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 5:37 am, police were dispatched to the area of William St. and Heath Street in relation to a personal welfare check.

Police attended and located the male in possession of a shopping cart full of copper wire and power tools.

Michael Herdman, a 37-year-old male from Cobourg, was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court in June 2024.

Police continued their investigation and determined that some of the property was stolen from a break and enter overnight at a construction site in the north end of Cobourg. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are anticipated.
