Belleville Police Service – Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation (No Name Released)

On the 21st of May at 1:28am, members of the Belleville Police Service’s Uniform Division responded to a residence on Hastings Park Drive after receiving a report of a homicide at the residence.

Upon arrival, police located a deceased 26-year-old female and a 30-year-old male who had lacerations to his wrists. Both parties were located inside the residence. Based on police observations and the initial investigation, the male was arrested for first degree murder. The male was transported by paramedics to the Kingston General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He remains in police custody at the hospital.

The names of the accused and deceased are not being released at this time pending next-of-kin notification.

The Belleville Police Criminal Investigations Division with assistance from the Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate the incident. Uniform police personnel remain at the residence preserving scene continuity.
