Cobourg Police – Dynamic Patrol Leads to Theft, Possession of Property and Breach of Probation Arrest (Name Released)

Since May 1, 2024, the 2024 Downtown Action Plan comprises a series of proactive crime prevention measures alongside ongoing harm reduction programs. Enforcement of laws and regulations will be a critical focus, particularly in interactions requiring direct intervention due to specific actions or behaviours of individuals.

On May 18th, 2024, members of the Cobourg Police Service were called to a store in the downtown in relation to a theft in progress. Members attend and located the party responsible for the theft.

Some of the property was recovered at the time of the arrest.

As result of this investigation, Jillian Nolan, 40 years of age of Cobourg was arrested and held for a Show Cause Hearing May 19th, 2024. She is charged with:

1) Theft Under $5000 -Shoplifting Contrary to Section 334(b) of the Criminal Code

2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Contrary to Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code

3) Fail to Comply with Probation S. 733.1 (1) of the Criminal Code x 2 Counts
