Cobourg Police – Dynamic Patrol Leads to Possession of Stolen Property Arrest (Name Released)

Since May 1, 2024, the 2024 Downtown Action Plan comprises a series of proactive crime prevention measures alongside ongoing harm reduction programs. Enforcement of laws and regulations will be a critical focus, particularly in interactions requiring direct intervention due to specific actions or behaviours of individuals.

As part of ongoing proactive engagement and enforcement efforts members of Uniform Patrol on May 19th, 2024, observed a female in the downtown in possession of a Winners shopping cart.

The individual was stopped, and the stolen property was seized to be returned to rightful owner.

As result of this investigation, Maria Raycraft, 32 years of Cobourg was arrested and released to a future court date. She is charged with:

1) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
