Cobourg Police – Peterborough Man Charged with Theft (No Name Released)

A 59-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a theft investigation.

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., police received a report of theft from a business on Elgin Street West in the Town of Cobourg. Staff observed a man concealing merchandise in his jacket and exiting the store without attempting to pay.

As a result of the investigation, police identified the suspect. On April 25, 2024, a 59-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
