Temporary Disruption Due to Scheduled Maintenance in Cobourg

IT hardware update to cause temporary disruption to municipal services.

The Town of Cobourg Corporate Services Division would like to advise residents of a temporary disruption to municipal services due to a scheduled IT hardware update.

On Friday, April 5, 2024 the Town of Cobourg Corporate Services Division will be conducting a scheduled IT hardware update. From 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., municipal departments will be without internet and phone services causing minor disruptions to all departmental services.

During the outage, Municipal phone lines will be down, and the following municipal services will be impacted:

Finance:
• Residents looking to pay tax bills can do so by cash or cheque only.
• Those looking to pay a parking ticket fine may do so by cash or cheque only.
• Transit passes will be unavailable for purchase.
• Parking passes will be unavailable for purchase.
Receipts can be emailed or mailed the following business day. Customers are asked to please bring appropriate documentation as staff will be unable to look up personal billing information.

Legislative Services:
• The Town of Cobourg will be unable to issue Marriage Certificates.

Public Works:
• Staff will experience a delay in their ability to respond to locate requests and service requests submitted through the Town’s CityWorks software.

Cobourg Public Library:
• Public internet and Wi-fi will be unavailable at the Cobourg Public Library

Please note, the scheduled maintenance does not impact the Cobourg Fire Department. Cobourg Fire Department phones will be operational during this time and platoons will carry
additional communications devices to respond to calls for service.
