Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Assault with a Weapon, Administer Noxious Thing, Possession of Weapon (No Name Released)

A 29-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a report of assault on Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m., police responded to a call of an assault in the east end of the Town of Cobourg.

Witnesses reported a man spraying a mace-like substance during a dispute, affecting multiple people.

One person sustained minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, administer noxious thing, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failing to comply with a release order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing later today
