Cobourg Police – Hamilton Township Man Charged with Utter Death Threats (No Name Released)

A 19-year-old Hamilton Township man is facing charges after police investigate a harassing communication report.

On March 11, 2023, the Cobourg Police Service received a report of harassing communication. The complainant reported that they and their partner received harassing communication from an ex-partner over social media, including utterances to cause bodily harm or death to them and their friends. The ex-partner had also damaged property belonging to the complainant.

As a result of the police investigation, a 19-year-old man from Hamilton Township was arrested and charged with three counts of uttering death threats, two counts of harassing communications, and mischief under $5,000.

The accused was held for a bail hearing later today.
