Belleville Police Service – Calls for Service Include Fraud Suspect Wanted and Vehicle Impounded After High Speeds

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 79 calls for service between 5:00 am on February 27, 2024 to 5:00 am on February 28, 2024.

Fraud suspect sought
An investigation is ongoing into a theft of upwards of $2,500 from a Belleville man’s bank account late last year.

Police were called to a bank on North Front Street on November 22, 2024 after the man inadvertently forgot his debit card in an ATM.

When he returned, bank staff advised his account had been accessed several times and more than $2,500 was removed.

After contacting security at the bank at the time of the offence, police this week received the following images of the suspect:

High speeds, vehicle impounded
A 22-year-old motorist will be without a vehicle and licence for the next little while after the vehicle he was driving was clocked at more than 40 kilometres over the speed limit in the city’s east end, Tuesday.

An officer with the Belleville traffic unit was conducting radar along Old Highway 2 when a vehicle was clocked at 109 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

The vehicle was pulled over near Grass Boulevard by the officer and the 22-year-old Belleville man behind the wheel was charged with Stunt Driving.

He was issued a court date in provincial traffic court on April 8, 2024, his licence was seized and vehicle impounded.
