Video – Open Flame Inside Tent at the Encampment and Sleeping In Banks With the Warming Hub Open

In Local

It appears once again that someone was having an open flame in their tent on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

At approximately 11 p.m. it appears open flames were visible coming from inside one of the tents at the encampment located at 390 King Street East, in Cobourg.

A number of tents have wood stoves, but open flames inside the tents are strictly prohibited.

On King Street a number of people were sleeping in one of the bank vestibules, although The Warming Hub was open at St. Peter’s Church and Transition House commonly has space.
