Kawartha Lakes OPP – Two People Charged with Impaired Driving (Names Released)

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated two separate incidents involving impaired drivers in the early morning hours of January 28, 2024.

On January 28, 2024 at approximately 01:40 am, officers conduced a traffic stop on County Road 8 on a motor vehicle. An impaired driving investigation commenced. Also at approximately 02:49 am, a second traffic stop was conducted on a motor vehicle in Fenelon Falls and an impaired investigation commenced.

The two drivers of the motor vehicles were arrested and charged,

Meredith Montgomery 46 years old of Fenelon Falls was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
  • Drive Motor Vehicle No Currently Validated Permit
  • Fail to Surrender Insurance Card

Robert Burke 46 years old of Fenelon Falls was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80
  • Drive Motor Vehicle Without Proper Headlights

The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicles was towed and impounded for 7 days.
