Northumberland OPP – Person Charged with Theft in Campbellford (Name Released)

On January 13, 2024, the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made an arrest in relation to a shoplifting investigation.

On November 20, 2023, the OPP received a report of regarding theft from a business premises in Campbellford. The accused had left the property prior to police arrival.

An investigation led to an individual being identified.

On January 13, 2023 at approximately 8:50 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint in Campbellford. Officers subsequently located the vehicle described by the complainant and spoke with the driver. Following investigation, the driver was identified as being sought in relation to theft.

Shane MACLEAN, 43-years-old, of no fixed address, was a rrested and charged with:

–      Theft under $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
