Cobourg Police – Port Hope Woman Charged with Assault in Area of The Warming Hub (No Name Released)

A 30-year-old Port Hope woman faces charges after police responded to a call early Wednesday morning.

On January 10, 2024, just after midnight, police responded to a report of an argument between two individuals involving a weapon at an address in the east end of Cobourg near King Street East and College Street.

Police were informed that a woman and man were engaged in an argument when the woman threatened the man with a metal bar, charging at him. A witness was able to take the bar away. The woman fled the scene but was located a short distance away and arrested. No injuries were reported.

As a result of the police investigation the 30-year-old Port Hope woman was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Fail to comply with Probation.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing later today.
