Community members invited to nominate deserving volunteers

The Town of Cobourg’s Civic Awards Committee is now calling for nominations for the 21 st Annual Civic Awards recognizing local residents who have helped benefit the community through their outstanding volunteerism and community involvement.

Residents are encouraged to nominate deserving individuals to be recognized for their volunteerism within the community. The nomination form and awards category information can be found at
www.Cobourg.ca/Civic-Awards.

There are 11 Major Award categories to choose from, with a new Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility Award (IDEA) award category. The IDEA award will be presented to an individual or
group who has made a positive impact in the community through their volunteerism efforts.

The Distinguished Awards differ from the Major Awards as they recognize specific contributions made during the past year and may be awarded to individuals and groups in seven different
categories.

This year, the Civic Awards will honour the successful recipients on Monday, April 22, 2024, in the Concert Hall at Victoria Hall at 7 p.m.

“Our community is full of hardworking volunteers who make Cobourg a better place to live,” said Mayor Lucas Cleveland. “We look forward to honouring them at the Civic Awards, and I encourage you to consider nominating someone you feel is deserving of this recognition.”

How to Nominate Someone:
• Review the award categories and select the most appropriate category.

• Complete the online nomination form.

• Include all required information and supporting documentation, if applicable.

• Submit the nomination form and any supporting documentation by Friday, February 16th, 2024.

The Civic Awards Committee would like to thank the generous support of local sponsors, including Frank Bouwmans Cabinet Makers Inc., Lakefront Utilities, Northumberland News, RBC Wealth
Management – Lynn Hardy, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 133, the Lions Club of Cobourg and the Rotary Club of Cobourg.
