Northumberland OPP – Trent Hills Youth Charged with Sexual Assault x3

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

On December 7, 2023, the Northumberland OPP were dispatched to a property in the Municipality of Trent Hills where the victim provided details of the complaint. At that point, an investigation was initiated which spanned approximately three weeks.

On January 1, 2024, OPP arrested a 17-year-old from the Municipality of Trent Hills as a result of the investigation.

The individual, who cannot be named due to the provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), was charged with the following:

  • Sexual Assault – three counts.
