Within the 2024 Budget, Council approved the creation of a $55,000 Environmental Initiatives Reserve for environmental projects, the purchase of water rescue equipment replacement and related equipment for the Fire Department, new ball diamond fencing at the Baltimore Recreation Centre, as well as a part-time administrative assistant to enhance the customer service experience within the Public Works department.

Council also committed to enhancing its roads network by investing approximately $2.5 million for several surface treatment and paving projects, including Crossen Road, Garland Road, Williamson Road, Racetrack Road, and Hircock Road.

To meet the capital replacement and rehabilitation needs for existing infrastructure, prevent infrastructure backlogs, and achieve long-term sustainability, Council approved 1.4% increase as per the Asset Management Plan recommendation. This 1.4% is included in the overall 5.7% increase.
