Cobourg Police – Festive RIDE Program – Impaired Arrest (No Name Released)

A 45-year-old Castleton man has been arrested for impaired driving after police conducted a RIDE spot check on Division Street on Friday night.

On Saturday, December 9th, 2023, at approximately 12:30 am, police were conducting a RIDE program on Division Street when they spoke with a driver and detected a strong odour of alcohol on
his breath.

The man failed a roadside test, and a breath sample provided confirmed the man was above the approved blood alcohol limit.

As a result of the police investigation, a 45-year-old Castleton man was arrested and charged with operation while impaired over 80.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
