Video – Cobourg Fire Department Responds to Unauthorized Fire Inside Tent at Encampment

Cobourg Fire Department were called to the encampment at the former Brookside Youth Centre on King Street East on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

Shortly after 1 p.m. firefighters were called to 390 King Street East after security noticed a fire inside a tent.

When firefighters arrived they discovered a unauthorized fire inside a small wood stove inside one of the tents.

Firefighters took the wood out of the stove and told the resident not to use it until it has been inspected and authorized by the fire department which will take place on Thursday.
