Northumberland OPP – Quebec Driver Charged with Dangerous Operation, Fail to Remain, No License (Name Released)

On December 2, 2023, at approximately 10:27 a.m., the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Hamilton Township.

Following the collision, witnesses reported one involved vehicle proceeded westbound towards the Municipality of Port Hope. It was then observed by OPP and stopped without incident on Highway 401.

There were no injuries reported by involved parties at the time of collision.

Amine LAIB, 25-years-old, from Montreal. Quebec, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Fail to remain
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence
  • Fail to apply or permit on becoming owner.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
