Town of Cobourg Prepares to Celebrate 2023 Santa Claus Parade

Road Closure Notice for Saturday, December 2nd
The Town of Cobourg would like to remind residents that the 2023 Cobourg Santa Claus Parade is this Saturday, December 2, 2023.

This year’s parade theme is Holiday Movies and Classic Holiday Cartoons and is brought to us thanks to the generous sponsorship from Beneco Custom Print Packaging. Parade participants
have found creative ways to embrace the parade theme and will be incorporating both music and lighting into their displays. The parade route travels along King Street, starting at the
library and will travel east through downtown to D’Arcy Street.

Food Bank Donations:
The Fare Share Food Bank will once again be collecting non-perishable food items for the food bank. Collection will happen at the beginning of the parade. This year, as well as non-
perishable food, cash donations will be accepted.

Letters to Santa:
Children are welcome to bring their letters to Santa which will be collected at the beginning of the parade by the Elves from Canada Post.

Tune in from Home:
For those who cannot attend in person the parade will be LIVE streamed with commentary on COGECO’s YourTV Northumberland (Cable 10 / HD Cable 700).

Road Closure Details:
King Street, from William St. to Cottesmore Ave. will be closed from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Ontario Street from Albert Street to King Street West will be closed from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

NEW Pre-Parade Fun Zones:
This year, Experience Cobourg has partnered with the Art Gallery of Northumberland and the Cobourg Public Library to present three Pre-Parade Fun Zones.

Zone 1, Winter Inflatables: Members of the community are invited to come Downtown Cobourg on King Street, out front of Victoria Hall to enjoy eight large winter inflatables.
4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Zone 2, Whimsical Winter Wonderland: the Art Gallery of Northumberland will be set up outside Victoria Hall at 4:00 p.m. Create an adorable gingerbread house, with plenty of areas to customize and personalize, you will make it your own. Come decorate the house (inside and out!) with markers, crayons, colored pencils, stickers and more.
4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Zone 3, Exclusive Winter Festival: The Cobourg Public Library is hosting an exclusive Winter Festival with winter-themed craft stations, games, hot chocolate (while supplies last), seasonal treats, and an appearance from your Cobourg Cougars!
3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Library, 200 Ontario Street
